The notorious rakia-bar-restaurant RAKETA (17 Yanko Sakazov Blvd.) has new hall as an extension to this urban legend. We aimed to expand the design concept of the two other saloons – Rakia and Sputnik.
The Buzludzha hall is in constant communication with Sputnik hall and Raketa restaurant, and needs to accommodate various events which require flexible rearrangement of all furniture. All fixed furniture open fully towards the common terrace in order to interlace interior and exterior.
An industrial design direction was brought as a connection to the Sputnik with having the same existing spatial resources – a single space rectangular shape and a 4 meter high ceiling.
The studio developed a specific approach in the crafting of all of the furniture, lightning, door frames and fittings, uniquely produced for that project. Wooden paneling and shelves, the Soviet red star lightning and the wall with old carpets are all blending along to create an unobtrusive and enchanting atmosphere.
